Non Executive Directors

The appointment of Non-Executive Directors is in line with recommendations made both in the Quinquennial Review of the Service and under the Criminal Justice Review.

It is also in line with the Government's programme of Civil Service Reform that Government Departments should expand their management boards to include relevant expertise and experience from outside the Civil Service.

The Prison Service Management Board consists of the Director General, three Directors, the Governing Governors of each establishment and two Non-Executive Directors.

The two Non Executive Directors are Sid McDowell and Ruth Laird.
