Maghaberry Prison
Privilege
A privilege is any facility, item or activity over and above the entitlements laid down by law.
Examples include: association, television, tuck shop, gymnasium, cell crafts etc. The progressive regime operated in Maghaberry makes privileges available to prisoners who demonstrate through their behaviour and attitude that they are participating in their sentence plan.
Privileges can be curtailed or withdrawn for operational and/or disciplinary reasons.
