Weekly Situation Report for the week ending March 28
Methodist President visits Maghaberry Prison
The President of the Methodist Church in Ireland the Reverend Robert Cooper today visited Maghaberry Prison.
Reverend Cooper was welcomed to the Co Antrim prison by Governor Alan Longwell and, accompanied by Methodist Chaplain, Reverend Leslie Spence, visited the Healthcare Centre, where he spoke to staff.
At lunchtime he met up with a number of other prison chaplains in the prison chapel to discuss issues of pastoral care. Reverend Cooper said afterwards he had welcomed the opportunity to visit the prison.
