Notable incidents (and NIPS response)
Sea Cadets host charity exhibition of prison art
More than 100 works of art produced by Northern Ireland prisoners are going on sale for charity this weekend at the headquarters of Portush Sea Cadets.
Although the Sea Cadets are hosting the exhibition, the event has been sponsored by Magilligan Governor Tom Woods and includes a stunning display of art from Magilligan, Maghaberry and Hydebank Wood.
Governor Woods said: “Not only is this exhibition giving prisoners a rare opportunity to display their work to the public but all proceeds raised from the sale of paintings plus £1 catalogue cover charge will be donated to Cancer Research UK.”
The exhibition will open tonight (Friday, November 30) at 7pm for invited guests and will continue on December 1 (11am - 8pm) and December 2 (11am- 6pm). Anyone purchasing a painting will be able to collect it between 6pm and 8pm on December 2.
