New Accomodation unit opens at Maghaberry
Prisons’ Minister Paul Goggins today opened a new 120 bed unit at Maghaberry Prison. Braid House will accommodate life sentence prisoners.

MAGHABERRY GOVERNOR TO MOVE TO NEW POST
The Northern Ireland Prison Service Director, Robin Masefield, has announced that the Governor of Maghaberry, Steve Rodford, will be returning to Her Majesty’s Prison Service to take up an appointment in Headquarters there early in the New Year. The Governor is returning, somewhat earlier than scheduled, primarily for personal and domestic reasons

ABSCOND PRISONER HANDS HIMSELF IN
Jonathan Peter Neill (34), a life sentence prisoner who absconded on 16 November 2009 while living in the community as part of his pre-release programme, has this afternoon voluntarily handed himself into the custody of the Prison Service. He will now be housed in Maghaberry Prison.
