Prisons’ Minister Paul Goggins welcomed the publication of the report. He said,

“I am grateful to Dr. Michael Maguire and his team at Criminal Justice Inspection for their efforts in undertaking this report. Their recommendations and general commentary will be of great benefit to the Prison Service as it endeavours to deliver a high quality programme of training for all its staff.
