Running costs

The Northern Ireland Prison Service is committed to the effective, efficient and economical use of resources provided, regularity and propriety of its expenditure and ensuring that the requirements of Government Accounting are met.

The resource funding available to the Service for the next three years are given in the table below and were determined as part of the Spending Review 2004. The Service must also deliver significant efficiencies over the SR2004 period to meet the Cost Per Prisoner Place target.
